ICIA Delegate Attended BCBF2018 to Actively Promote ISLI International Standard

The 55th Bologna Children's Book Fair kicked off at BolognaFiere Exhibition Centre, Italy, on March 26th, 2018, this year's event lasted from 26th to 29th, publishers, authors, illustrators, printers, distributors and people related to publishing industry flocked to Bologna to exchange views on the trend of global children's books and talk about cooperation on copyright trade during the Fair.

 

Bologna Children's Book Fair, honored as one of the four largest international book fairs, is the largest and most influential exhibition for children's content around the world. With more than 25000 people taking part in the event, it can attract about 1300 publishing institutions every year. In consideration of the influence of the Fair in international children's book field and the good cooperation between the ICIA and the organizer, ICIA delegate attended the event to communicate with the publishers all over the world to publicize ICIA and its members, and promote ISLI international standard.

 

ICIA delegate had in-depth discussion with ICIA members at the event, and introduced about the latest information of ICIA and ISLI standard, including the application of ISLI standard in publishing industry in the year of 2017 and the status quo of promotion throughout the world during the Fair. After that, ICIA delegate visited some of the publishers at the Fair, and introduced ICIA and ISLI standard to them, many publishers expressed their hope to join ICIA and have further perception of ISLI standard, one publisher from Rwanda filled in the application form immediately after listening to the introduction about the benefit to join ICIA and the value of applying ISLI standard. For the publishers who were busy, or person-in-charge were not at the booth during visiting, ICIA delegate left the business cards to them for future contact.

 

The event means a lot to ICIA and the promotion of ISLI international standard, ICIA not only absorbed 10 publishing institutions as members, but also had in-depth talk with Polish ISBN Agency, Polish ISMN Agency, National Library of Poland and The project of Turkish Literature Abroad (YATEDAM in Turkish) and other institutions, they showed strong interest in the application of ISLI standard in publishing field and expressed that they would introduce ISLI standard to the publishers in their countries.
