ICIA-ISLI RA Attended the 46th ISO/TC46 Plenary Meeting

On May 6, 2019, the 46th ISO/TC46 (International Organization for Standardization/Information and Documentation Committee) annual meeting was officially held at the Library and Archives Canada/Bibliothèque et Archives Canada. The opening ceremony was hosted by Mr. William Leonard, Chief of the Standards and Systems at Library and Archives Canada. Ms. Gaëlle Béquet, Chair of TC46, and Dr. Guy Berthiaume, Librarian and Archivist of Canada, President of the Standing Committee of the National Libraries Section, and Ms. Patricia Cook, Secretary of the new ISO Central Secretariat, delivered speeches at the opening ceremony.
Founded in 1947, ISO/TC46 currently has 40 members and 33 observers worldwide, and its standards are critical to the development of global information and documentation.
As the Registration Authority of the ISLI (ISO 17316: 2015 Information and documentation-International Standard Link Identifier) and the Liaison A Organization of ISO/TC46/SC9(Identification and description), ICIA attends relative meetings and work group discussions.
