The 2019 China Shanghai International Children's Book Fair (CCBF) concluded on November 17, 2019 with the theme of “Embracing the future". The exhibition area of this year is 25,000 square meters, 25% more than last year. More than 60,000 kinds of children's books have been presented. There were 345 reading promotion and professional exchange activities, covering more than 30 cultural spaces of publishing and reading outside the main venue, such as in schools, libraries and bookstores. The illustration as an important part of children's books is still the highlight of the CCBF.

The Global Illustration Award (GIA) was jointly organized by International Information Content Industry Association (ICIA) and the Frankfurt Book Fair, and IlluSalon Co., Ltd. As early as the first CCBF was held, it had been invited to host shows and activities of international illustrations. In the past few years, under the joint promotion of ICIA and other relevant organizations, illustration in publishing, advertising, design and other information content related industries are more known, familiar and valued by practitioners. Domestic illustration exhibitions and activities are held more frequently and having an extensive popularity among audiences.

This CCBF is the second children's book fair co-sponsored by Gruppo Bologna Fiere in strategic cooperation with the organizer of Bologna Children's Book Fair (BCBF) in Italy. The international resources, exhibition experience and professional advantages of BCBF are fully reflected in this fair. The illustrator corner, a special project from the BCBF, still attracts a large number of young illustrators and students here. This is an exchange platform for Chinese and foreign illustrators to exchange experience. During this exhibition, 10 masters' BBS, 8 workshops and 40 one-on-one guidances were launched. The number of illustrators engaged has reached thousands. The Global Illustration Award is also involved in the communication with agencies and illustrators to promote the development of illustration applications.
