ICIA-ISLI RA Attended the 43rd ISO/TC46 Plenary Meeting

ICIA, as ISLI RA and a Category A-Liaison organization of ISO/TC46/SC9, attended the 43rd ISO/TC46 Plenary Meeting held in Wellington, New Zealand, on 9th - 13th May, 2016. Representatives from ICIA included Rick Lui, CEO of ISLI RA, and Cai Xun, chief expert of China Working Group for drafting ISLI standard.
ISO/TC46 plenary meeting was held in Wellington on 11th May, 2016. SC9 secretariat officially announced that ICIA has been approved to be the Category A-Liaison organization of TC46/SC9 at the meeting.
At the TC46/SC9 Ad hoc Registration Authorities Group meeting on 11th May, ISLI RA gave a report on the work it has done and the growth of ISLI codes registration in the year of 2015. And SC 9 secretariat congratulated ISLI RA on the progress of promoting the industrial application of ISLI.
ISO/TC46/SC9 Ad hoc Identifiers Interoperability Group meeting was held on 11th May, 2016.
ISLI RA also attended the ISO/TC46/SC9 Ad hoc Identifiers Interoperability Group meeting held on the same day. Attendees discussed how to solve issues related to cross references between metadata of identifiers and ISLI was regarded as the possible solution for this. And a task group was established to research and evaluate the relevant technology realization solution. ISLI RA is a member of the group.
ISLI RA held the meeting of its Consultative Committee on 9th May. Consultants attending the meeting included Cai Xun, chief expert of China Working Group for drafting ISLI standard, Stella Griffiths, chairperson of TC46/SC9, Todd Carpenter, secretary of TC46/SC9, Paul Jessop, expert of TC46/SC9 and Sam Gyun Oh, former chairperson of TC46/SC9. They exchanged their views on the current development situation of the ISLI standard and made suggestions about how to promote the application of the standard and its sustainable development all around the world.
The ISLI RA Consultative Committee met on 9th May.
